Drumsticks (Indian vegetables)

Drumsticks (Indian vegetables) are pods of the Moringa Tree. They are an excellent source of vitamins, fibre and protein.

To give you an idea of size, the longest pod in the photo is almost a metre long!

We use this Indian vegetable in our Konkani Prawn Curry. Once cooked it looks a little similar to celery. As you chew the drumsticks, their outer skin can be a little fibrous and tough, but as you chew them they release their delicious soft centre. You can either eat their fibrous skins or discard them.

They add that extra touch of authenticity!
